DNA SummitI was honored to participate in the 1st Tanzania DNA Day Summit at the Jakaya Kikwete Hall as both a speaker and a panelist. The guest of honor was the Deputy Minister of Health, Dr. Florence Samizi, representing the Minister of Health, Mohamed Mchengerwa. The theme was “Unlocking Our Future Through Genomics: Innovation, Development and Societal Impact.

I presented on Community Responses to Fanconi Anemia and other rare genetic diseases in Tanzania, highlighting the importance of bridging genomics with lived experience—drawing from my journey as a caregiver.

We support children with rare diseases through awareness, advocacy, and Psychosocial care turning pain into purpose. We are working to establish Tanzania's first FANCONI ANEMIA diagnostic center to ensure timely, accurate identification of rare conditions and better access to treatment.
